1. What are your rates?

Sublessors / Tenants
Listing a sublet or roommate wanted ad costs $14 for a maximum of five months OR until the unit is rented or inactivated.

Owners / Managers

Fees for owners/managers are determined by total number of units owned/managed. A unit is an individual, locked rental. Please note that VIP staff reserve the right to confirm your total number of units owned/managed based on the records of the VIP, the City of Madison Assessor web site, Access Dane, and survey information. Falsification and/or misrepresentation of this information may result in suspension or rejection of listing privileges. Click here for more information.

Owners/managers with 6 or less rental units are charged $22 per VACANT unit advertised for a maximum of five months.

If an owner/manager has multiple vacant units at an address that are similar or identical, s/he is charged $22 per vacancy NOT $22 per listing.

Owners/managers with 7 or more rental units are asked to contact the Housing Coordinator at 263-2452. Rates vary depending on location and number of units.

If you are unsure how your situation fits with our fee structure, we will work with you to see how our service can best meet your needs.

The use of the VIP's Campus Area Housing Listing Service by owners or managers with an inventory of 7 or more rental units is by annual subscription only and is based on the total number of rental units owned or managed. Please contact Campus Area Housing at 263-2452 if you have questions.

8. What are your listing policies - i.e., refund, compliance, privacy, etc.?

9. Is this website secure? Can anyone else make changes to my profile or listings? Is it safe to enter my credit card information?
Yes, this is a secure web site. Your profile and listing information are username and password protected. In addition to you (or anyone you supply your username and password to), VIP staff with administrative access rights are the only other party who may make changes to your information. Similar to other UW-Madison departments, the Campus Area Housing web site and listing database are located on a secure server at the Division of Information Technology (DoIT). Credit card transactions are performed over a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) connection between your web browser and the DoIT web server. This technology scrambles or encrypts the data between your browser and the DoIT server, making it useless to hackers.
