Here at YWAM Madison's Phos House, we are committed to providing a Christian living environment for our university students. As our residents strive towards excellence in their studies, we offer a place where they can let down their guard, grow in their relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ, and make life long friends.
Phos House has two floors of common areas that include a front room, dining room, prayer room with a piano, living room, kitchen and pantry, low cost, on site laundry facilities, large open porch, enclosed porch and several areas ideal for studying. In 2023-2024, we will have a dinner meal plan available three nights a week, and our staff love to bake! Shared utilities are an additional $115 a month, which also includes all cleaning supplies, paper supplies (paper towels, TP) and cooking spices.
Our rooms can be partially or fully furnished by request.
Located two blocks from the Terrace, and a block from State Street, Phos House is within walking distance to many UW buildings on campus.
Why the name 'Phos'? This house was the first fraternity house built on campus back in 1887, and the rest of Langdon Street followed suit. Phos is Greek for the word 'light' and we desire to be a lighthouse to those around us, as a house, but also as students in our spheres of influence.
We enjoy each other and love spending time together, so we make time to have fun, worship, study the Bible, encourage, study, cook, clean and watch the sunsets together too.
Staff are dedicated to modeling an ever expanding Biblical worldview, having an active and growing relationship with Jesus, and being an encouragement when life is stressful and difficult.
