Use of entire house, well-equipped kitchen, patio with gas grill, hammock, washer, and dryer. Finished basement 65-inch TV. 

The home is a 1920 cedar-shingled house, with hardwood floors, a wood-burning fireplace, perennial gardens, large trees, and lots of birds. My goal is to create a welcoming and comfortable space whether you are here for several months or a couple of years. 

The neighborhood  has a "small town" atmosphere, where kids ride by the house on their way to school, a local swimming pool, tennis courts. It is a quite community near the lake with a shared kayak program, part of the Capital City Bike trail, 26 mile trail weaves beween 3 Madison lakes. 99% residential, and extremely quiet. 

The house is a 10 minute walk to University Avenue's  major bus line 10 minute ride to campus,  a 15 minute walk to the hospital and medical school and an 8 minute bike ride. There is a bike here for your use. A beatiful running path lines the lake shore from the village to campus and Picnic Point. 

Grocery shopping is a 12 minute walk, and higher end stores at Hilldale Mall. Several local coffee shops in addition to Starbucks, and numberous American and ethnic  restaurantes with in walking distance. It is one of the most desirable communities in the state.  This is a very special community, with no blaring TVs or loud music in the house or neighborhood. You can safely walk the streets at any time of day or night..

I try to create a quiet private space while providing a welcoming home to students and scholars needing a respite from the stress and demands of their research and studies. The desk and room provide for a quiet place to study and read.  I have had students request to stay for additional years after being here for only a few months. Residents have come from around the world and have enjoyed living in an American home with a sense of community. Any serious applicants will be provided with contact information to speak with previous housemates. 

Terms of lease minimum of 3 months-negotiable.
