I'm a former high school English teacher now employed full time at UW-Madison, and I have had the pleasure of sharing my 3-bedroom home with 2 students of varying nationalities and cultures since 1990. This room is one of two furnished rental rooms in my cozy private home. I have enjoyed sharing my home with people of many nationalities and cultures since 1990, so I’m seeking a friendly, tolerant grad student or upperclassman to join my household consisting of myself and one other grad student. I am conveniently close to campus but away from downtown noise and congestion in a quiet neighborhood near the intersection of Midvale Boulevard and Odana Road. My house is one block away from the bike path to campus (Engineering/Union South area--a 10-minute ride), and there are also 2 bus stops nearby (one is just around the corner, no streets to cross), allowing tenants to reach campus in 10-15 minutes. My two rooms are most often rented to UW grad students, which I prefer; however, I will consider a quiet, studious undergrad or a recent grad now gainfully employed in Madison. My house is also in a perfect location for those who need to access the Belt-line and freeways to travel on weekends.
You’ll find the room generously sized (see pictures) with a large closet, dresser and hutch, bed, desk, and bookcase. There is also a beautiful, newly remodeled main bathroom to be shared with me as landlady. Utilities (heat/ac, electricity, and water), kitchen privileges (beautifully remodeled with granite counters and all-LG stainless appliances) and laundry privileges, as well as wireless internet are included in the rent. There is also a private phone line that can be activated at the tenant's expense, but recent tenants have used their cell phones. This room is most often rented by students without a car, although a car owner is welcome as on-street parking is plentiful on my uncrowded street.
