A great place to live as an introduction to Madison. Most second-semester rooms have already been rented, and fall semester leases don't start until September, so I'd be helping you by providing a great room in a private home while you explore Madison to find the best permanent location for the fall. And you'd be helping me as my last tenant.

I have an unfortunate situation--my lovely tenant is moving out unexpectedly due to her pending marriage in March, and I need my rental income to continue through August, so you'd be the lucky tenant in a room that usually is not on the market at this time of year. I'm a former high school English teacher now employed full time at UW-Madison, and I have had the pleasure of sharing my home with students of many nationalities and cultures since 1990. However, this will be my last rental situation as I will be retiring from UW on September 1, 2018.

This furnished room (see pictures) is generously sized with a large closet, dresser and hutch, bed, desk, and bookcase. There is also a beautiful, remodeled main bathroom you will share with me as landlady. Utilities (heat/ac, electricity, and water), kitchen privileges (beautifully remodeled with granite counters and all-LG stainless appliances) and laundry privileges, as well as wireless internet are included in the rent. I am conveniently close to campus but away from downtown noise and congestion in a quiet neighborhood near the intersection of Midvale Boulevard and Odana Road. My house is one block away from the bike path to campus (a 10-minute ride), and there are also 2 bus stops nearby (one is just around the corner, no streets to cross), allowing tenants to reach campus in 10-15 minutes. My two rooms are most often rented to UW grad students, which I prefer; however, I will consider a quiet, studious undergrad. My house is also in a perfect location for those who need to travel on weekends. What a bargain!
